I believe everyone should have the ability, opportunity, and accessibility to express themselves through the art of music making.
Promote, encourage, foster, and nurture creativity, musicality, artistry, and intelligence through meaningful and impactful musical experiences.
My classroom is student-centered and student-driven. I want my students to not only be actively engaged in music making, but also excited by learning, and creative/critical thinking. I focus on creating a classroom culture that celebrates diversity, excellence, and artistry, and promotes growth and acceptance. When students feel like they are being heard, seen, and valued, they will likely be encouraged and motivated to participate, contribute, and to use their voice to make a difference.
St. Catherine's Center for Children 2020 Press Release:
"Trevor Wheelock is the new music teacher at our R&E May School this year and he sure puts on a show! Each time he picks the children up for his next class he brings along his guitar and sings a little tune on the way to the music room! The kids love playing with the instruments and Trevor really knows how to hold their attention! Way to go Trevor, and welcome to our family!!"
