Trevor Wheelock is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, educator, and music director based in the Capital Region of New York. He currently serves as the Band Director at The Albany Academies, a prestigious independent college-preparatory school in Albany, NY, where he oversees the band programs from 4th to 12th grade, teaches private lessons, AP Music Theory, Music Production, and directs the pit orchestra for the annual musical productions.
Prior to joining The Albany Academies, Trevor taught K-6 music at the R&E May School, focusing on students with behavioral and special educational needs. His career in education spans various settings including K-12, higher education, residential treatment, and family services, where he has worked extensively with at-risk students and families.
Trevor's musical direction credits include numerous productions at both secondary and collegiate levels, alongside his work as a pit orchestra pianist for Berkshire Theatre Group. Beyond education, he is an active performer across the Northeast, showcasing a diverse repertoire ranging from jazz standards to contemporary hits.
Trevor earned his BA in Performing Arts with a concentration in Music, graduating Cum Laude from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in just three years. Currently, he is finishing a MEd in Educational Leadership and Management at Fitchburg State University.
